Welcome to the Occult Club!
I'm Errapel (the latest in a long stream of names, so don't get confused) and I am the founder of this club. This club is for those who are interested in the occult, in it's many forms. You may know nothing about the occult, that may be why you are here, simply out of curiosity, you are very welcome. One of my main aims with this group is to promote awareness about the occult, so there is less ignorance in the world. My second main aim is to help those already adept in the occult, say in Wicca, witchcraft or occultism for example, to network with each other, as I, for one find myself feeling very alone. You will find out more about me in the 'About me' page.
And a side note about a lot of the essays. This site is a collection of all my essays, some of which are very old (some from the first year or so I was studying). If it sounds like I'm contradicting myself it's simply because some essays are much older than others. My views change over time (as do most people) so the views and ideas expressed in some of my older essays may not be the case now. I've opted to leave them all up, as old though they are, I think that some useful information may still be gleaned from them.
Over the past few years I've become rather cynical of and disenchanted by the Pagan community. That's not to say my faith itself has wavered, that at least is still very firm. It's simply that I have very limited time, energy and patience, and navigating the labyrinthine web of lives the Pagan community represents tends to leave me tired and frustrated. Part of the problem is what I may term 'trolls' whose mere presence is disruptive and destructive to the general whole. One may find that an innocent comment or post on a forum may generate a disproportionate amount of anger or misunderstanding. Many communities descend all too easily into infighting, flame wars and general animosity. This is not something I feel up to handling right now, though I do still believe there are many wonderful, special and amazing people within the Pagan community. I intend to continue to update this site as and when I can, and hopefully when I feel stronger and more energetic I'll attempt to spend more time with other Pagans.

New Blog!
I thought I'd announce to the world, and the few people who still come here, that I have a blog. It's mostly there to cover my various musings on ethics, magic and spirituality, the ones that aren't quite coherent enough to go up on this site. So without further ado, here it is: Errapel's Circle
Mission statement
My mission in life, as on this page, is to light a candle in the darkness of ignorance. My motto is 'A person is only truly ignorant if they do not wish to learn.' Unfortunately, there are many such people. But by building this site, I hope to reach those who are simply ignorant and have the desire to know more. I am personally a very willing teacher, unfortunately I haven't yet found a willing pupil, but that's another story. At any rate, my hope of this web site is that it will help people learn and grow.
My second reason for building this site is so those interested in the occult can find those of a like mind. I will also have a page (networking) were you can network with other people interested in the occult. At the moment, it's simply a link to WitchVox where you can add youself to the directories, and a simple request for you to mention the occult club in your description so other members can find you. I'll let you know things as they happen.

This site isn't updated nearly often enough. I do my best, but I've got a lot of other things to do. But don't think I've abandoned it.
